RDK is already ported and available on a wide range of SoC platforms addressing varying device profiles with varying capabilities. In addition to this, RDKM also offers a wide range of RDK Reference devices – the carrier grade off-the-shelf set top box devices that Operators can adopt and release to market with minimal time

SOC Reference Platform

Certified ports of RDK is available across a wide variety of popular SOC platforms. Being a certified port comes with the advantage of making sure that the RDK feature is proven to work in that platform and hence the final device from OEM is also confirmed to have this feature working on this. Community members who want to adapt RDK can start from any of these available certified SOCs. Please note that, while RDK Certification is not mandatory for a SOC, it is highly recommended to try out the RDK ports that are certified by RDK Management.

Generic Reference Platform

RDK offers a port on the popular generic reference platform - Raspberry Pi - for the community members. This port will serve as a good starting point for new community members to try out RDK. For app developers, this will serve as a platform where they can try out the Firebolt/Lightning apps they develop.

Remote Controls

For the video devices, different OEMs provide remote control units that are certified to work with RDK devices out of the box.

Generic Reference Platform
